Aluminum giftware became fashionable during the depression era. Everlast Metal Products Corporation of New York City was founded by Russian immigrants Louis Schnitzer and Nathan Gelfman. Everlast giftware was popular from 1935 until 1961 when they closed up because they could not compete with plastics.
The back of each flowered coaster is signed and includes the anchor and arm holding a hammer. The coaster is almost 4.5 inches in diameter and the trivet holder is 4 inches by 5 inches with a curved hammered handle.
