The china saucer was created sometime during 1945 and 1952 when the procelain and ceramics industries were prospering in Japan with the change to a democratic system replacing the importance of the emperor after the war. "Occupied Japan" items implied that there was American supervision; therefore, The Americans were more ready to purchase. All of these items were created in Japan, but were sold outside of Japan.
The saucer is 5.25 inches in diameter. There is a thin gold accent around the edge.
