Designers Anthony J. Rosena and Wilmer C. Fenton designed and filed the patent for this unique version of a white glass candle holder in 1968. The patent was granted in 1970 to the Fenton Art Company in West Virginia in 1970. If the multi-level candle holder has “Patent Pending” on the bottom with no patent number, it was created either in 1968 or 1969. Our hobnail vintage cottage chic version was created sometime in the 1970s because the bottom stated, “Patent No. 3547569” with “Fenton” in an oval in the center of the bottom. The candle holder is designed to accommodate 3 different sizes of candles in the middle (taper, 1.75 inch diameter or almost 3 inch candle). There are holders for 5 smaller tapers around the edge. It sports a saw toothed upper rim.
